Beqë Cufaj, born 1970 in Deçan (Kosovo).

He lives with his family in Stuttgart. After studying literature in Pristina, he went to live in Germany in 1995. He dealt with his migration experiences with 205 , a volume with short prose and poetry. With the outbreak of the Kosovo War in 1999, Cufaj published literary essays in renowned European newspapers as FAZ , NZZ and Courrier International , in which he commented on the events in his home country with astuteness and deep human empathy. As Kosovo’s literary advocate, he has ever since accompanied the developments of his home country in the post-war period. A collection of writings on this topic appeared in 2000 with Kosova – Rückkehr in ein verwüstetes Land (tr.: Kosova – Return to a devastated country). With Shkëlqimi i huaj (2003), Cufaj published his debut novel. Projekt@party (2012) is his second and newest one.
